Halliburton Wins Nine Contracts for Work Offshore Senegal
Woodside Energy has awarded Halliburton nine conditional contracts for drilling and completions services offshore Senegal.

Halliburton Company on Monday said it had been awarded nine conditional contracts for drilling and completion services for SNE Field Development Phase 1 offshore Senegal.

The campaign, awarded by Woodside Energy BV, includes drilling and completion of 18 wells with up to eight optional wells over an estimated three- to four- year term. Contracts awarded include:

  • Drilling
  • Logging
  • Cementing
  • Lower Completions
  • E-line/Slick Line
  • Coiled Tubing
  • Well Testing Services

“We are excited to win this work and to provide services from our multiple product service lines on what is likely to be the first deepwater oil development in Senegal,” Shannon Slocum, senior vice president of the Eurasia, Europe and Sub-Sahara Africa region for Halliburton, said in a BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast statement. “In addition to our services, Halliburton will invest in Senegal through constructing facilities, hiring local staff and potentially utilizing local vendors/suppliers.”

Initial engineering work will begin in Perth, Australia, later this year, and will then transfer to Dakar, Senegal in 2020.

Work is set to begin in late 2020 or early 2021.

Halliburton did not disclose the cost value of the contracts, but noted they are conditional based on Woodside’s positive SNE Field Development FID and full funding release.
