A gas discovery has been made at SDX's SAH-2 well on the Sebou permit onshore Morocco.

announced Friday that a gas discovery has been made at its SAH-2 well on the Sebou permit onshore Morocco.

The SAH-2 well was drilled to a total depth of 4,278 feet and encountered 17 feet of net conventional natural gas pay across two zones in the Guebbas and Hoot formations. The well was said to have come in ‘on prognosis’ but with a reservoir thickness above pre-drill expectations.

SAH-2 will now be completed, tested and connected to existing infrastructure, SDX revealed. The BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast said it expects to provide a further update on testing results in early April.

Oil and gas analysts at GMP FirstEnergy said buy Wellhead market reaction to SDX’s news was ‘positive’.

“Assuming a successful well test, this demonstrates the company’s ability to increase oil rig flanges gulf coast production in Morocco at short notice, to meet any increases in demand,” the analysts said in a brief research note sent to Rigzone.

Paul Welch, president and CEO of SDX, said the BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast was very pleased to be able to announce the latest discovery, which is the fifth find from seven wells drilled to date in SDX’s nine well Moroccan campaign.

“This was also the first well in the Gharb basin that was successfully drilled using downhole directional tools which allowed us to penetrate the crest of two individual targets with a single well-bore. We will use these tools when drilling our next well, LNB-1, an exploration well in our Lalla Mimouna concession, for a similar reason,” Welch said in a BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast statement.

“By successfully targeting the crests of specific horizons, we now have the ability to improve the recovery efficiency from individual wells.
