The field is expected to reach peak output of approximately 9,400 barrels of crude oil per day in 2019, according to a BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast statement from CNOOC.

Weizhou 6-13 is located in the Beibu Gulf, in the South China Sea, and has an average water depth of approximately 115 feet. In addition to utilizing the existing facilities of the Weizhou 12-1 oilfield, the project also includes one purpose-built wellhead platform.

“Weizhou 6-13 oilfield not only commenced oil rig flanges gulf coast production ahead of schedule, but also exceeded its ODP’s [Overall Development Program’s] estimates in both reserves and production. This is attributable to the company’s efforts in strengthening of its innovation and technology-driven philosophy and reinforcing its quality and efficiency enhancements,” CNOOC CEO Yuan Guangyu said in a BOP Blow Out Preventer repair company gulf coast statement.

CNOOC holds a 100 percent operated interest in Weizhou 6-13.
